Your BaZi (八字, “eight characters”) — also called the Four Pillars of Destiny — is the snapshot of the sky at your birth, written as four pairs of a heavenly stem and an earthly branch: one each for the year, month, day, and hour.

Most online calculators get two things wrong, and both change your chart:

Solar terms, not the calendar. Your year pillar turns at lìchūn (立春, ~Feb 4), not New Year’s Day or even Lunar New Year. Your month pillar turns on the solar terms, not the 1st. We compute these exactly.
True solar time. Your hour pillar depends on the real position of the sun at your birthplace — your longitude and the equation of time — not the clock on the wall. Get this wrong and the whole hour pillar shifts.
